As you may have guessed, yes... it happened, I ordered Isaac's school uniform this week - Nooooooooooo!! I simply can not fathom how I was giving birth to him literally, like yesterday!! Now he's going off to school (Sept 10th)!! He'll have to ask for help from someone other than me - someone who may not actually think its the most adorable thing ever, that his letter a's look like tadpoles. Someone who isn't secretly happy that he still calls cushions 'pushons' no matter how many times he's told!
My one comfort is that he will love it. He learns so much when he's around other children (yes, part of my fear too!) and he loves company. He's such a chatterbox, he's also a dreamer. He can spend hours on his own upstairs or in the playroom, acting out entire conversations and adventures with bits of Lego! I really hope they 'get' that. That they help him turn that into something brilliant, something creative!
I remember being just like him (Barbie's not Lego!) we really are so alike. I remember lots of occasions when I was really young that I just didn't get school. Even now I'm a 'don't tell me, show me' kind of girl. I know teaching has moved on, I hope so.
Well, my gorgeous, perfect, beautiful little Isaac, I will be extra sure to enjoy the teeny tiny you and those tadpole a's for at least a few more weeks!

and at this we are afraid.
But we are a part of wonder.
The sea is bright with marvels,
the sky is awash with stars.
And we are alive
in the midst of them.'
